Will we have her the 6th?

Well we had my 38 weeks appointment today.

I was planning on it being fairly uneventful since we already have the induction schedule for the 6th, but I guess I was wrong. My test results came back on my 24 hour test and they had raised about 90 points from the previous test putting me at 376. Keeping in mind we want me no higher than 300. So I again get to repeat this test starting immediately at my doctors appointment.

Also we were at no surprise to hear the doctor state this was going to be a big baby as she was looking for her heartbeat. So now the possibility of a C-Section is on the table as well. We have an ultrasound schedule for tomorrow and another appointment immediately following so we can discuss options.

So now we know for sure Regina will be here by the 6th. The question is, will it be sooner and how will she be entering this world?

Wish us luck tomorrow.

Maybe my next post will be the cutest thing anyone has ever seen...

I'm an Elephant.

I feel like I keep knocking over everything with this belly. Plus hugs are pretty much side hugs now because the front hugs are uncomfortable and Regina makes that known.

8 days till induction!

And the results are...

So the past week has been quite a lot of doctors and tests. Last week my feet, legs, and ankles swelled up all of a sudden and I was getting sharp pains on my right side along with on and off headaches. So we went to the hospital twice and the doctors once for extra testing and blood work. Today was my doctors appointment and finally we have some results.

Even though I still have to continue some more test it looks like I'm on the border of being Preeclamptic. So with that and the baby being a little bit bigger because of the GD we have officially scheduled an induction. I really hope I go into labor before the induction because I hear inducing can be hard in me some times, but I guess it will all be up to Regina on when she comes.

We are heading into the hospital on December 5th at 6:30 pm to start a drug to loosen things up and for some monitoring before the pitocin. Then in the morning of the 6th we will start the pitocin and hopefully have a baby by the end of the day. I guess inducing can take up to 3 days so it's not guaranteed but I really hope it doesn't take that long. But with the way my pregnancy goes I won't rule anything out...

Landon and I are really excited to have a tentative date on the calendar to say she should be here for sure by since a due date is just an "around this time" date. I think I'm just a tad bit more excited though because I really miss sitting, standing, or laying down comfortably.

Update

So we have hopefully no more than 37 days till we meet our little girl. Landon and I are getting extremely excited to have her in our arms. I'm getting excited to not have her kick my ribs any more!

Lately she has been quite upset because she is getting low on room in there. At my last appointment (33 Weeks) they measured her at 5 pounds and 3 ounces already. She's not HUGE but she on her way to being an 8-9 pound baby. Lucky me!

We are going to try and finish setting up Regina's little area in the bedroom this weekend. The bassinet is already set-up and the dresser is getting transferred from one house to the other tomorrow. Now we just have to adjust the other furniture and get it all in the right spot.

Most things are falling in to place as far as necessities for her. I still need to go out and buy a few size 1 diapers since I don't think she will be in newborn diapers for very long unless my ultrasound is way off or she comes in the next week. I'm hoping she comes at 36 weeks just for my comfort, but doubt that will happen. I have yet to start entertaining the thought of her coming late though. I'm to uncomfortable to think about it.

Here I am at 34 weeks. I feel HUGE!
So far sleeping has become a chore. I can fall asleep pretty fast as long as Regina's not awake. But if she's awake I can't sleep. Plus she likes getting me up at least 3 times during the night to use the bathroom. Then she thinks 4 am is a great time to wake up and hang out. Plus she likes staying up till 11 or 12. So sleep is hard to come by for me. Hence why I sleep in till like 9 or 10 everyday and take a nap.

Heartburn is becoming manageable and the blackouts have been gone for a while. So that's nice, but I have more back pain and annoying braxton hicks contractions all the time. But I guess that means my body is just getting ready to have a baby.

At the end of the day, we can't wait for this little bundle of joy to be here. Although I do wish I could be just a bit more comfortable.

New countdown begins

So I have officially 298 more finger pokes to go until Regina's due date. Which means my poor little fingers will be hurting come labor day. But that's okay, it all for Regina to be healthy.

I have not officially started a new diet yet because I don't meet with a dietitian until the 4th of October. At that time I will get put on a personalized meal plan that I need to follow. It will take in account how my numbers have been for the past week and the foods I like. Right now it's just simple like avoiding a lot of sugar or carbs. Also, not eating fruit before lunch and making sure I go for a 20 minutes walk everyday.

So far I have tested 4 times and I have been perfect every single time. I told Landon last night it's like the lottery, I get to plug in the strip and see if the right number comes up. So far my odds of winning are much better than any lottery I have ever heard of.

I was really overwhelmed by the diabetes new this weekend. But I think after meeting with the nurse I feel a little more like I will be able to do this properly. Plus it helps that my finger poker doesn't really hurt at all.

Belly Time

Well I have been told that people want to see my little belly making an appearance on the blog. So that is what this post is about. We took these photos a few days back so it would be me at 28 weeks and 2 days, I believe.

Seems like I keep getting bigger and bigger everyday though!

Hope you enjoy!

So this one is actually at 24 weeks, but the other 2 are at 28.

I love my little girl.

Diabetes

Guess who's test came back abnormal!!??

That's right. It's mine!

So I get to go into Diabetic training tomorrow or early next week and learn how to test myself! So I've done the math, it's 4 pokes a day for 7 days a week, for the next 11 weeks. Which adds up to.... 308 pokes!!

I'm not really surprised by this result but still, kinda wish I didn't have it.

Glucose Test

So I had my 3-hour Glucose test today. It was a lot of work leading up to this test. If you have ever been on a high-carb diet with a tiny stomach you will know what I mean. I had to eat so many things for this diet it was ridiculous. I think lunch was the worst though.

For example, my lunch diet was a sandwich, two carrots, a banana, 12 oz. milkshake, and 10-15 potato chips.

My response was, "Really? That is a diet?" But the first day I had to eat that much for every meal I was in tears by dinner time thinking about food. And for those who think oh just split your meals in half and snack on portions of your lunch, that is not possible. See they also gave me snacks for in between meals so if I didn't eat lunch at lunch by the time I was supposed to go to bed I still had loads of food to eat.

Anyways, today was easier as far as the eating goes because it was just fasting. But for a 7 month pregnant lady fasting is hard as well. I was go hungry and my heartburn was killing me. I'm opposite in heartburn, if I'm full I don't have it, but if I don't eat my heartburn is insane. I told my mother I have a dragon living in my throat.

Luckily, I had a very nice lab tech who let me pick where I wanted my blood drawn from today. So since I know my arms are a nightmare for a lab tech I opted for all 4 drawing to be out of my hands. So three pokes on the right hand and one on the left. After 3.5 hours I was good to go and could eat! Yay!

Should get my results back in a few days. Lets all hope that diabetes is not the result. But in all honesty with how hard this pregnancy has been it wouldn't surprise me at all.

Oh and I have been told belly picture are wanted so Landon and I will try to get around to taking a picture tonight. That way we can get one posted by the end of the week. My belly isn't very big, but we will show it off anyways!

Little Update

I feel the need to post a new entry today but I'm not sure what to write about.

Things have been pretty stressful lately and the pregnancy seems to keep changing each day. I usually feel okay, not amazing but I can at least go through the tasks of life. Other days I'm so tired I think I could sleep all day if it wasn't for needing to eat and use the bathroom.

I've got killer heartburn. I keep telling people I think a dragon is living in my throat. The good news though is the dragon likes almonds and usually backs off for a few hours with 5-6 almonds. I get to go in next week for the longer glucose test because I failed my first one. I'm not too excited about getting my blood taken 4 times. Especially since it usually takes 2-3 times to get a good vein in the first place. I'm hoping we can keep my pokes under 12 though. Oh also my body seems to not like iron to much. I've been really low on that lately which could explain my tiredness. Hopefully some extra supplements and a change in diet will help with that though.

This past Sunday will have been three months until Regina is due. I feel totally unprepared because I really don't have much for her yet. We have a crib and some clothes. Plus a good stock of diapers. But I guess because I don't have a space designated for her and her stuff I feel really disorganized. I doubt she will care much if I'm still organizing things once she's here, but I just feel the need to organize.

Our apartment search is coming along. We want to stay nearby for family support, but the area is more expensive then it was in Utah. So we are trying to save until the end of November and move into our own place 2-3 weeks before Regina is due. Which means I can't really help move anything and I will just be doing light tasks. But we both agree it will be good for us to have our own place for when Regina comes home. We just need to have our family together in one place that is there just for us. We know it will be hard and a change from living with parents for a few months, but Regina deserves getting her parents undivided attention. Plus then her crying won't wake up a whole house, just us.

Well I'm tired now and could probably use a nap. Only a little over 12 weeks left till our little one is here!

My Daughter likes to Dance

She wiggles and squirms ALL DAY

I absolutely LOVE it.

I think she knows that it comforts me to feel her moving. So she does it obviously and often. Fortunately for me she's still little enough I'm not getting kicked in the ribs. I'm sure she will do that in a few weeks though.

I have a blog I love to read everyday and she did a post while she was still pregnant about her boys moving. It's really cute and has a video. Check this out when you have time. I can't wait to have some experiences like this. It's exciting.

Pictures

Here are the pictures as promised! It took longer than I thought but here they are:

It't kinda blurry but her head is on the left, and the top of her chest is on the right.

She was really well behaved and even took some time to wave to Mommy and Daddy!

She's Practically Perfect in Every way

Well we had our ultrasound yesterday and found out we are having the most perfect little girl in the whole wide world. She's the cutest little baby with a little tiny nose. She was kicking and streching out her little fingers for us to see like she was waving right at Mommy and Daddy.

Of course Landon and the ultrasound technician think all babies look the same right about now, but a Mommy knows that she has the cutest baby of all time.

Her legs are a little shorter and her belly a little bigger. Probably taking after her Daddy with the short legs. But her heart, kidneys, stomach and arteries are all perfect. There's no signs of Turners' Syndrome like my little sister had so that was such a relief for me.

Now it's just waiting till December!

We will try to post some pictures after our family vacation this weekend, but until then you'll have to wait just a little longer!

Vegetarian

Apparently I'm vegetarian now.

The baby and my stomach have ganged up against me and meat. They think it's just to hard to digest. Not good for me seeing as I need more protein to gain back some of the 25 lbs. I've already lost.

Little baby bump is starting to be a bit more obvious the past few days. Landon and I will get some photos taken so I can post them up. I think it will still be a few more weeks until people stop wondering if I'm pregnant or just fat though.

School and work are kicking my butt. It seems like when I'm not working I'm sleeping. Then on my days off of work I'm doing homework, trying to eat more, and sleeping.

It will all be worth it though. Baby will be proud that her mommy finished off her associates degree before s/he's born.

One more week until we find out if it's a boy or girl!

New-ish Ultrasound

So I just realized I never posted our updated Ultrasound from a month ago. Oops! I have a private blog I run that I posted on there but totoally forgot to post it here. So here is the baby!

We are totally in love with the baby at this point. It is so excited just thinking that in a few short months we will be parents! We find out on the 21st hopefully if we are having a boy or a girl. So expect an update around then!

Introducing Baby Ostraff!

There is baby!

We went yesterday to my Dr.'s appointment and we had an ultrasound then as well to make sure we only had one baby and to see how far along I was.

The Dr. thinks I am 9 weeks and 5 days along as of right now. But we will get exact confirmation on our next visit (June 14th) when the ultrasound technician is there.

It was the best experience so far in this pregnancy. Our baby was squirming around like crazy and looked like s/he was dancing. We just kept laughing because when she'd try to get a picture the baby would move and we would lose sight of a limb. But overall it was amazing.

We didn't get to hear the heartbeat but we did see the heart beating on the ultrasound. Which was really cool too.

In the end, BEST DAY EVER!

Last Week in Utah

So I think it is starting to actually hit me that we are moving away from Utah this week.

When people ask me if I like Utah over Michigan it's a fairly quick response that Michigan is better. But there will be a few things I will miss:

-The family we have out here is amazing. It has been great getting to know all of them. I can't believe that Debbie won't be a 15 minute car raide away anymore. It hasn't hit me that I can't just show up there whenever and hang out with the kids.

-The mountains. They are beautiful. Especially if you sit up on a peak or go into a canyon. They really are breath-taking. It will be sad leaving them. I wish I could have both my greenery and the mountains.

-Married Friends. It will probably not happen for a few more years in Michigan since Utah tends to get married quite young. But having married friends has been nice for Landon and I. Leaving them will be a bummer, but I guess that means we can attend weddings in Michigan which is also quite fun.

-Cheaper schooling. Utah universities are so much cheaper than Michigan universities. I just hope that we keep qualifying for a bunch of pell grants and then we can finish school with out anymore student loans. (I took some out before I truly understood them, bad idea. But we should have them half way paid off by the end of the year!)

-5 minutes to Church and 15 minutes to a Temple. Utah is designed for Mormons. Everything is so close and so convenient. It's gonna be harder knowing we need to drive 30-40 minutes to church each Sunday and I believe the closest Temple is about 45 minutes away. Having them closer is such a luxury here in Utah.

I'm sure I could think of more to be grateful about here in Utah, but my tummy says it's time for breakfast and Landon would appreciate if I didn't eat while on the computer....

Have a nice rainy day!

My Bed = My New Bestfriend

I am so exhausted.

I seriously had no idea how much energy a baby takes to make. I feel like I could sleep for days only getting up for food and bathroom breaks. 1 more day of classes, 3 exams, and a 26 hour road trip. Then I can relax without any commitments for a few days at least.

Lets hope the smell of Mexican food doesn't make me sick at my new job. Oh speaking of me getting sick. Apparently the sight of prunes makes me sick. I caught a glimpse of them in the back of my pantry today when I was getting popcorn. NOT a good reaction...

Landon has been awesome though. He did some dishes today and did the laundry. Amazing and sympathetic doesn't begin to describe him. He took me to the grocery store on Tuesday when one of my classes was cancelled so I could get food I was craving. Cereal and Chicken and Apples. For some reason sweets are not really something I crave. But I LOVE popcorn and chicken. Plus the cereal is coming in use for my lazy person breakfasts.

Baby Baby Baby!

So we found out on Thursday and we are expecting our first child this December!!

We think the due date is December 11th but we are waiting till we get to Michigan to go to the Dr.'s since we will be having the baby in Michigan. It wouldn't do much for me to go to one here other than getting vitamins which I just got over the counter anyways.

Landon and I are super excited and can't wait for all the fun experiences we will have this year and all the years to follow.

It will be the first Grandbaby for our parents and the first Great-grandbaby on my dad's side of the family.

Should be lots and lots of FUN!

Again, S U P E R excited!!

Did I ever mention how super my Husband is?

Brownie, Meat Boy, Bandage Girl, and Tofu Boy

Landon has been working so hard lately on this art project. Which I guess you can say evolved into a toy project. But either way he has been working very hard, and I have been skeptical about it really going anywhere. Well let me just say my husband has proved me wrong once again...

After he launched his Voxelous website he sold out of his project in hours. We went to bed last night with basically full stock and awoke this morning to a store with just a quarter of it's stock left over. By the time we hit 12 hours after launch we had sold out of two characters and we still have like 2 of each of the last characters left.

I can't believe it. I was thinking okay maybe we will sell what we have, but we have hit a way higher demand than ever expected! We are ordering more ASAP and will be selling more when they come in but it's going to be another 2-3 weeks till we can do that!

What a month April is going to be!!

In the end I must say I have quite an amazing Husband because despite people not being sure about this idea he stuck with it. Let's just hope we can handle the demand and show his customers how much he really loves their support!

It's Friday, Friday, Gotta get down on Friday!

So it's Friday. If your up to date on your pop culture you realize that I could break into song about how awesome Friday is and how I can't wait for Friday, but...

Instead we will talk about my plans for the evening.

Landon and I will be doing a wonderful date night tonight. I am super excited! We found out that Uncle Joe is having a piece of art on display tonight at the Rio Gallery in SLC. So we have decided to us our Cocolito's coupon and have dinner then drive up to SLC and spend a little time at the gallery.

Unfortunately I work for the next three nights which means we won't see each other too much because I will be sleeping when he's awake and vice versa. So a fun night together to kick off the work weekend should be a nice way to go.

I'll post pictures some time this next week. I've been asked to take some to share with family that can't make it. Should be lots of fun!

Countdown Starts...

Well if all goes as planned we will be driving through Wyoming around this time in 6 weeks!

We are getting pretty excited and are starting to sell off all the furniture and other various household objects. It looks like a garage sale going on in our home. Little stickers all over everything with prices... still have more to price, but it's a start.

We are starting the job hunt and hoping it all goes well.

I will have registration for classes in the next week and will know for sure what out moving date will be. We are hoping to move the last few days in April to avoid May rent. We might have to stay later though depending on my ability to get online classes.

I really hope we can leave ASAP!

I can't wait to be back in Michigan! But, I will miss my Utahans...

Update!

So it's been a VERY long time since I have updated this blog, so I will just do a little update and then see how well I can keep up with the updates!

January-
1st- We moved into our new apartment, it was exhausting to move everything but we got here safely and got busy settling in. (Also started not feeling well.)

2nd-26th- Started school, studied, worked, slept, etc. Mostly a slightly normal month with nothing to special going on.

27th-29th- Went to SLC to celebrate our Anniversary, which will have its own post later, we spent 2 days there, and then stopped at Gardner's Village on the way home for Landon's 22nd Birthday.

February-
1st-5th- Got sick... again.

14th- Celebrated our 2nd Valentine's Day as a married couple. We stayed in a had Ravioli and homemade Red velvet cake and studied a little. (I know studying... SO romantic, but we did awesome on the test!)

19th-20th- Went to the ER for stomach pain, ended up getting my Gallbladder out!

21st-now- I have been off of school and work recovering, but Tuesday I should have the clear to start it all back up again!

Well, I will have a more detailed post about our anniversary later this month and probably a little post about Landon's most recent project...

So sick.

I'm sick.
I have a stuffy and/or runny nose, sore throat, I'm coughing, and totally fatigued.

Today is the first day of school. Our last class is cancelled today. So only 11-4 today at school. I hope I can make it through.

Landon is being amazing and picking me up from school and going out with me tonight for some cough syrup and a new humidifier. Can't wait!
